Biomechanical socks: your perfect companion for Hiking
Designed by podiatrists. Tested by walkers. Backed by science.
Hiking is a transforming experience, but also a major physical challenge: long stages, uneven terrain and days that put your feet to the test.
One of the most common mistakes among hikers is underestimating the importance of socks, and nothing can ruin your trip sooner than a blister, a sore heel or swollen feet!
At Podoks we have designed biomechanical socks specifically for high impact activities, designed by podiatrists and backed by scientific studies, our socks prevent injuries, reduce pain and improve comfort every day.

Protection against blisters and chafing
Constant friction of the sock against the skin is the hiker's number one enemy. Our socks significantly reduce friction between foot and shoe, preventing the dreaded blisters that can ruin your experience.

Reduce muscle fatigue
The biomechanical technology integrated into our socks improves plantar pressure distribution, reducing muscle fatigue and allowing you to walk more kilometers with less effort.

Injury prevention socks
Our socks help to prevent frequent pathologies among pilgrims such as:
- Chafing and blisters
- Plantar fasciitis
- Metatarsalgia
- Swollen or tired feet
- Heel and arch pain

Science on your feet
Each model incorporates decades of podiatric experience and the latest innovations in technical materials:
- Plantar arch support that prevents plantar fasciitis.
- Strategic heel and forefoot reinforcement that redistributes pressure.
- Toe separation for greater impulse and a more secure grip.
- CoolMax® fabric with antibacterial treatment that keeps the foot dry and prevents blisters.
- Specific compression that improves proprioception and foot stability.
- Flat seams that eliminate chafing points and friction.

Designed by podiatrists
Doctors Alfonso Martínez Nova and Fran Monzó lead a team with more than 30 years of experience in the field of biomechanics and podiatric research, which is why our socks are not designed to look good with your shoes, they are designed to offer you therapeutic value with every step.
Tailored to make a difference
When it comes to protecting your feet, the fabric material makes all the difference. Cotton can retain moisture and cause chafing. Technical fabrics get better, but if you're looking for performance, recovery and injury prevention, Coolmax® is the technology you need.
Material | Breathability | Drying | Thermal Comfort | Chafing prevention | Sports use |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cotton | Low | Slow | Humidity and heat retention | Low | ❌ |
Common technical material | Medium | Medium | Acceptable regulation | Medium | ✅ |
Coolmax® (Podoks) | High | Very fast | Keeps the foot dry and cool | Very high | ✅✅ |
Which model to choose
A Podoks for every type of walker
For most walkers the best choice is the Podoks Running range.
This model is available in three heights: ankle, mid-calf and high-calf.
If you prioritize comfort above all else, or if it's your first hiking and you don't know how your feet will react after several days of walking, choose Podoks Confort.
If you have had or have recurrent forefoot pain or overload in the toe area choose Podoks Metatarsalgia.
Do you have any questions? We give you answers
These are some of the most frequent doubts that pilgrims and hikers have.
Why should I use Podoks for Hiking?
Hiking is a unique experience that you can't afford to have ruined by foot problems.
Podoks doesn't make conventional socks: we are a startup founded by podiatrists that has developed the first biomechanical technology specifically designed to reduce plantar muscle fatigue and prevent injuries. Our socks are patented and backed by scientific research.
How are Podoks different from other technical socks?
Our socks were not born in a design workshop to look nice with your shoes, but in a podiatric clinic. They are designed by podiatrists and have been tested in clinical trials.
When you wear Podoks, you are putting innovation and technology on your feet to increase the dynamic stability of your foot and optimize the natural biomechanics of your footprint.
What are the advantages of the biomechanical design of Podoks?
While other socks focus only on comfort or breathability, Podoks goes further: it redistributes plantar pressure, improves the biomechanics of your footprint and reduces the cumulative impact of walking 20-35 km a day.
How do Podoks help prevent injuries?
Yes, scientific studies support the effectiveness of Podoks in injury prevention. Podoks biomechanical socks reduce plantar pressure under the first metatarsal head by 25% and under the first toe by 23%, promoting the Windlass mechanism and helping to reduce pain.
By optimizing pressure distribution and reducing muscle fatigue, Podoks acts as a primary prevention of overuse injuries. The socks are especially indicated to prevent plantar fasciitis, sesamoiditis, plantar muscle fatigue, open foot sensation and metatarsalgia.
How do Podoks prevent blisters?
The Podoks are made with Coolmax fabric, a yarn compound with antibacterial treatment that facilitates perspiration and keeps your foot dry. And thanks to the open stitching system prevents chafing and blisters.
Should I wear my socks for the first day of Hiking?
No. It is essential that you wear the socks during your training prior to Hiking. We recommend at least 2-3 long walks (15-20 km) with the socks to ensure that your feet fit properly and to verify that there are no friction points with your specific footwear.
Can I use Podoks for other sports?
Absolutely. Our socks are versatile and are suitable for running, hiking, trekking, and any activity that involves standing for long periods of time.
Many hikers adopt them as their regular sport socks for hiking. Podoks biomechanical technology benefits any sport.
They are also effective for professionals who spend long days on their feet (waiters, health workers, etc.), where the reduction of muscle fatigue makes a difference.
What size should I choose?
Consult our Sizing Guide if in doubt. Correct fit is crucial for Podoks biomechanical technology to work properly, if you are between sizes we recommend choosing the larger size.
Where are Podoks socks manufactured?
Our socks are patented and manufactured in a specialized factory in Spain.
How can I wash my Podoks?
Wash your socks every night with neutral soap and cold or lukewarm water. You can also machine wash them in cold water (maximum 30º) with mild detergent.
Do not use fabric softener. Air dry them, never tumble dry. With proper care they will maintain their technical properties for a long time.
